About us

Founded by Carole Porzycki, the "Affaire Personnelle" brand was born from a passion for both fashion and image. New techniques of digital printing on fabrics truly facilitate this union and open new ways of personalisation.

The headquarters of "Affaire Personnelle" are based in Troyes, the main location of the French knitting industry. The unique personalisation concept of the brand "Affaire Personnelle" was set up with the support of the Champagne-Ardennes Region, the Département de l'Aube and the DRIRE (Direction Régionale de l'Industrie, de la Recherche et de l'Environnement), within the context of a joint promotion entitled "Fashion and Personalisation" which brings together manufacturers from the Aube.

The original concept of the "Affaire Personnelle" brand was presented to the public for the first time in the Galeries Lafayette (Paris) in October 2005. The launch was so successful that it was decided to make this website the main distribution canal. The advantage of buying online is a 30% lower price than retail prices.

Why are our tops so different from personalised t-shirts ?

" Affaire Personnelle " puts creation at the heart of personalisation. All patterns are made once only in France. Drawings are printed directly on the fabric instead of being applied on ready-made t-shirts. Our drawings can therefore totally cover the surface of the model although they are no bigger than a rectangle for most of the personalised t-shirts. Our patterns are produced by digital printing on fabric, which allows perfect reproduction of the photo or the picture. We also use other techniques like embroidery, silkscreen printing to add value to the product. Once the fabric is printed, the models are assembled in the clothing workshop.


What is " Ready-to-customise " ?

" Affaire Personnelle " has invented the " Ready-to-customise " concept to make fashion creation ultimately harmonise with personalisation: standard settings in which your personal items photos, texts, name, etc. can be integrated. You may then choose to buy the model the way it is, or personalise it to give it an exclusive character. This way, your personalised model mixes creativity with exclusivity.

What is the unique item ?

On top of the "Ready-to-customise " , " Affaire Personnelle " offers a unique service of personalised creation. You entrust us with one of your photos, a drawing, a picture or a pattern and our styling team will create an exclusive model just for you. You choose the shape of top or bag, you send us your image and we do the rest.

And should you decide to make your unique item a model available to all, we give you the opportunity to sell it on our site and to thus become a designer customer contact us for further information.


What is a designer customer ?

You ordered a unique item with your visual or that of one of your relations. If this model fits in with our themes and has a broader appeal, you can sell it on our site and get paid on the items sold, provided of course that you own the intellectual property of your visual.

What is the intellectual property code ?

The intellectual property code normally covers the rights to use an "intellectual creation": invention, technical solution, literary or artistic work, brand, industrial drawings and models, software, etc. The various elements that constitute the intellectual property have a different legal regime corresponding to their nature. Generally the heading "intellectual property" covers two main branches:
1) The patent rights
2) The literary and artistic copyright.

Patent rights as well as literary and artistic copyright are led by the general principles of property law as drafted by the relevant civil codes and specific texts.

Artistic copyright covers among others the following types of works:
1) Drawing, painting or architectural works
2) Graphic design
3) Photography and works made with techniques similar to photography
4) Applied arts
5) Illustrations

As designer customer of Affaire Personnelle, you are expected to respect the right of intellectual property. You cannot sell your model on the site if you do not own your image. For example: you cannot exploit commercially images that you found on the web, or images you have scanned from books or magazines.

Before finally selling your " model " on our site, you must subscribe to the conditions of use, which commits you to:
- Certify Affaire Personnelle that you own the reproduction and distribution rights of the image and that, using this image to create your model, no legal right of a third party will be contravened.
- Take responsibility for any violation of the intellectual property code.
- Release Affaire Personnelle from any responsibility in case of complaint about the violation of the rights of a third party.
- Reimburse Affaire Personnelle for all damages resulting from a legal procedure.


Can I myself sell the models that you have made from my photos or creations ?

" Affaire personnelle " allows you to order certain quantities at a special "distributor" rate. This way you can sell your "model". To achieve this, please contact us at the following e-mail address: info@affairepersonnelle.com
But, you will not be able to reproduce the model we created from your visual and sell it without our previous permission. To transpose a visual on a model usually requires the involvement of our styling team.


How can I distribute my model, made from my child's drawing or from my personal materials, on the site and donate my payment to a good cause?

Affaire personnelle has launched a fundraising campaign entitled the "creative children have a heart". This idea stems from the first t-shirts made from children's drawings: "Arthur's caterpillar" and "David by David". Arthur's and David's parents declined to receive any royalties on the t-shirts' sales. We wished to broaden the offer of products made from children's drawings, and we did not wish to "profit" from this artistic work without compensation.

We therefore decided to launch this campaign. For each t-shirt or bag sold made from children's drawings we will donate 1 Euro to the humanitarian organization �Partage� that was selected among different organizations supporting the cause of Children of the world. This organization is based 40. rue Vivenel - BP 70311 - 60203 Compi�gne cedex - www.partage.org.


How can I look for a product?

You can look for products by drawing types :
- la rubrique Galerie des Imprimés contient tous les dessins standards, les dessins personnalisables et les dessins conçus à partir des éléments des clients.
- You will find all standard drawings, drawings for personalisation and the drawings made from personal items from customers in the Gallery of Patterns.
- Ready-to-Customise presents only drawings for personalisation.
- Unique Item presents only drawings made from personal items from customers who wished to sell their model on our site.


How can I set up my account ?

You simply need to click on "My account" and follow the instructions to register. You can also view the history of your purchases. If you are a designer customer, you will be soon able to follow-up the sales of your model(s). If you have forgotten your password, we will send it immediately back to you by e-mail.


How can I tell a friend?

In the presentation form of the product, you can send the photo of the model you love and send it directly to your friends by clicking on the link "send to a friend".


Can I choose my colour for existing models ?

Some patterns exist in various colours. They are all presented on the site: simply click on the one you like. For other models, only the colour is different. We have chosen the colours that best fit the patterns.


How can I personalise my product ?

1. If you wish to quickly find the list of models for personalisation, please click on "Ready-to-Customise". There you will find the settings where your personal items (photos, texts, name, etc.) can be integrated. You select your theme and a model. Then you add it to your shopping bag and access Step 2 of personalisation. Depending on the model selected you send us your text or photo(s). The photo can be uploaded directly from your computer or sent by post if it is not digitally available you will be charged 4€ extra to cover the postage costs.

2. If you want an "exclusive" pattern, please click on Unique Item : the model is created from scratch on the basis of one of your photos, a drawing, a picture or an illustration. You choose your shape, send us your image and we do the creation. As soon as we receive your visual we will confirm your order within 48 hours.


How to upload an image ?


To upload an image browsed from your computer, it is necessary to have a digitalized image ( jpeg or gif ).

To upload your image :
1. click on "Browse"
2. Select a picture (in general pictures are located in the file 'My documents/Image')
3. Click on "open" and your image will be uploaded on our server, ready to be customised by our stylist team.


Is my image good enough quality wise?

The best is a 150 dpi (number of pixels by point) image.


What about format ?

We accept the formats gif, jepg or eps. It is advisable that the image should not exceed 1,5 Mo.


Can I send you my visuals by post?

If you do not have a digital version of your photos or drawings, you may send them by post to the following address:

We will digitalise them ourselves, but will have to charge you 4 € extra for an A4.


How can I choose the right size ?

Choosing one's size is never easy. Some of our models are more slim-fitting than others. The materials cotton/elasthan give the model a closer-fitting aspect than 100% cotton models. If you prefer your top not to be too figure-hugging, then we advise you to select a bigger size.

You also have the opportunity to adapt the length of long sleeves. Just tick off one of the three options corresponding to the length of your arms: short - normal - long.

The Credit du Nord "webaffaires" secured payment solution will guarantee you the best possible safety. All data exchanged between you and our online payment system are encoded.

Once logged to Webaffaires payment system, you must type in your bank card number and the card's expiry date.
In some cases you may be required to validate your identity. You must then send a photocopy of an ID card as well as evidence of your residence whatever the method of payment by post to:

Delivery times

Since the product is made on request and that there are no stocks, you will receive your order within two weeks at most. In general, most products take much less time to be sent. In any case, do not hesitate to contact us.


How can I alter my order?

Contact a.s.a.p. the customer service by mail at info@affairepersonnelle.com. If your order has not yet been invoiced and sent, we will be able to alter it.


May I use my withdrawal right?

We make products at the request of customers. For products to be personalised (meaning adding texts and images belonging to the customer), according to the article L 121-20-1 of the French Consumer's Code, you are not entitled to the 7 days withdrawal limit.

For standard products, according to the article L121-16 of the French Consumer's Code, you are granted seven days from the time of delivery to send back, at your expense, the goods and be entitled to reimbursement.

Products must be returned to Affaire Personnelle in perfect condition in order to be re-sold, in their original state (packaging, accessories, directions...), well sealed and with the purchase invoice.

Any product returned incomplete, spoiled, damaged, or with damaged original packaging will be neither exchanged nor reimbursed.

Withdrawal will not incur any other costs, apart from the postage.

Exercising one's withdrawal right will entitle the person to a purchase voucher under the conditions mentioned below or to be refunded.


Can I get my money back?

Any reimbursement of Affaire Personnelle's standard products will be made in the form of a purchase voucher to be deducted from our site for your future purchase or by re-crediting crediting the bank card you used at the initial order or by check.


How can I send back a faulty product?

We do all we can to guarantee the quality of our products. However, we cannot be entirely immune from manufacturing defects. As soon as you receive your order, should you observe a defect, we advise you to let us know within 48 hours as from the delivery date, specifying your address and telephone details, the number of your order and the reason why you are returning it. After this time, there is a risk we may refuse the return of the product. To be admissible, any claim concerning goods or invoices must be sent by registered mail to the following address : Affaire Personnelle 11, rue de la cour des Noues Paris 75020 France or by email. The postage for the return of the goods will be borne by Affaire Personnelle if it appears that it is our responsibility.

We kindly ask you to follow accurately the instructions for maintenance which are on the labels of your tops. Please contact us if, in spite of this, you notice damage.


In what circumstances can I exchange the product?

Products for personalisation cannot be exchanged because they were created for your use only. If you are not be satisfied for reasons we believe legitimate, we may exchange your product, but you may have to pay a penalty, the amount of which will be calculated for each instance.

To exchange standard products, you must first contact us either by phone (please leave a message at + 33 8 77 06 61 38 we will get back to you quickly), or by post at Affaire Personnelle 11, rue de la cour des Noues Paris 75020 France, specifying you address, telephone details, your order number and the reason for the return.

You will then have to send us back within 7 days, at your expense, your order in perfect condition (note: clothes must not have been worn). We will send you, at our expense, your new order.

Return costs of the goods will be charged to Affaire Personnelle if it appears that we are responsible.
